Install Windows XP Using USB Stick

Here we will learn how to install Windows XP using a Flashdisk. The steps are as follows :

Install Windows XP using USB stick
1. Provide a Windows XP CD installer and a USB stick with capacity of 1GB or 2GB
2. To insert files Windows XP installer to USB stick, needed a software. Please download first here
3. Extract downloaded files to C:\
4. Open folder C:\komku\PeToUSB, double click PeToUSB.exe

5. Next, click Start. After that will be seen a confirmation message to format the USB Drive. Click next to continue. Remember, on the picture above, USB drive  located in drive G. If USB stick is succsesful in format, we will se message box like this :



6. Click OK and then clik Close
7. Next, open folder  C:\komku\usb_prep8. Double click usb_prep8.cmd

8. Press any key to continue
9. Type 1 and press Enter to choose location CD Windows XP installer

10. Type 3 and press Enter to choose target USB Drive



11. On the step number 5, USB Drive location in G, so type G: then press Enter
12. Type 4 then Press Enter to process. Next, we will se a message box like this :

13. Type Y and then press Enter. Next Press any key to continue...
14. Then click YES until the process is complete
15. Once completed, next open Command Prompt on the Start Menu
16. Type cd\ then press Enter
      Type cd komku\bootsect then press Enter
      Type bootsect.exe /nt52 G: then press Enter  => G is USB drive location

Now, your USB Stick is already..

To Install Windows XP using USB stick, make sure USB Hard Drive is set to be first booting on Bios setup
Select 1. TXT Mode Setup Windows XP, Never Unplug USB Drive Until Logon for first step
Select 2. GUI Mode Setup Windows XP, Continue Setup + Start XP for next step after computer restarted
